Dr. Tom Wagner I am currently serving an appointment as a DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) program manager. I am in the IPTO office and also manage effort(s) in the IXO office. My specialization is in artificial intelligence with particular interest in complex control (software and robots), distributed systems, computer learning, and planning/scheduling. My programs develop technologies in these areas and apply them to robotics to support dismounted warfighters, communications management, small unit coordination, and planning and decision support for command and control. Prior to joining DARPA, I was a principal research scientist at Honeywell Laboratories where I led the agent research group. Previous positions include being a professor at the University of Maine and having leadership roles in several start-up / entrepreneurial efforts. I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
